Pointer - Medium - Baby - Male - Dog - Bruno-Ohio
Description
FYI: All dogs are located in Williamston, MI (which is near Lansing, MI) unless stated otherwise at the top of their petfinder listing. We get dogs from all over the country, so we like to list where they came from as their hometown. NOTE: Bruno is being fostered in Miamisburg, Ohio which is in the Dayton, Ohio area. Name: Bruno Breed: English Pointer Size: 50 lbs (hell likely be about 55 lbs full grown) Color: Orange and White Age: 8 months (known date of birth) Hometown: Hartford, KY Date arrived at Pointers From Oz: September 23, 2009 More pictures: To see all of the pictures we have of Bruno, please click on the Pointers From Oz link on this page. Bruno is listed as both a Pointer and an English Pointer with different pictures on each listing. We will have more pictures up shortly. His story: Bruno was kept as the pick of his litter by his breeder. When his owner had to move for financial reasons, and could not keep him, he turned him into the shelter. He had turned some of his littermates into the shelter previously. One of our foster homes had previously fostered his sister and was really in love with her. She had a hard time letting her go, and when she saw Brunos face, she offered to foster him for us. His personality: Bruno is a typical happy go lucky puppy. He loves to play outside and snuggle inside. Other dogs: Bruno is good with other dogs. Hes living in a foster home with three other dogs who are teaching him social etiquette. Cats: We have not cat tested Bruno yet. If you are interested, and have cats, please let us know and we will be happy to do this. Most English Pointers are good with cats, but some like to bark or point them, so we like to screen for that. Kids: Bruno would probably do well in a home with kids. However, he does not have any kids in his foster home, so he does not have kid experience. Thus, homes with kids 8 and older would be best. Housetraining: Bruno is housetrained and crate trained. Fencing Needs: Bruno would do well with a standard or invisible fence. His foster home has a standard fence that is about six feet tall. Hunting Potential: Bruno would probably be a fun hunting buddy with the right training and guidance. Remember, our first priority is to find our foster dogs wonderful homes. Birddogs could care less if they go hunting or not, they just want plenty of outdoor time and families that love them. The vast majority of the dogs we adopt go to pet homes, where they are happy to chase and point bug, butterflies, and songbirds. Only about 1% go to hunting homes (where they are still spoiled family members). Vet Stuff: Bruno will be updated on vaccines, heartworm tested, and neutered shortly. Like all of our fosters, he has been dewormed and is current on heartworm and flea preventative. Adoption Fee: Please click on the Pointers From Oz link on the right of this page for information about our adoption fees. If you are interested in talking about Bruno and then coming to meet him, please call Erin at (517) 648-1666. After our phone interview, if you seem like a good match, we can set up an appointment for you to come and meet him. Bruno and I look forward to hearing from you.
